From Piles of Post-It's to
40+ Community Projects

We made it! With 6,457 Post-It Notes, 81 full whiteboards, 987 scraps of paper, 211 minutes of audio and video, 12 stressed out authors, 600+ anxious attendees, and dozens of puzzled community leaders (what is taking them so long?!), Emerging Leaders is pleased to present The Emerging London Project: An Invitation to Engage.

The Emerging Leaders Promise: Action... Or Your Money Back

We will be the change we want to see in our community. We won't simply talk about it and we'll stop complaining about the lack of it. Along the way we'll forge relationships, we'll seek opportunities, we'll give back, we'll work together rather than in competition...and we'll have a blast doing it.

Why this project? Why Now?

Because we want to commit to this city for life, make competitive incomes and be able to reinvest the money and time we save by living in a reasonably priced city with an incredibly high quality of life, into London charities and social enterprises, arts and cultural organizations (rhymes with “reforming parts enter”), city infrastructure like parks and pools and libraries, healthcare and educational institutions, and emerging businesses.

Because we want our kids to say “I can’t imagine Dundas empty” or “Why would anyone leave London for Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal or Kitchener-Waterloo?!”

Because we’re ready to embrace community pride in every sense.

Because our community needs cultural villages and ethnic food shops and so many festivals you can’t cross a downtown street between May and October, as much as it needs roads and sewers.

Because we believe that giant art projections should be a reality of everyday life, and that public art and restored heritage have the power to transform a community.

Because this generation believes in green and thinks the forest city can get there in a big way.

Because we don’t think bohemian is a bad word.

Because we are together, once and for all, ready to blow the top off the glass ceiling.

Because we want to cooperate more than compete, and when we do compete, feel confident in knowing that there is more than enough business to go around.

Because we know this community’s world-class institutions, businesses, and leaders are already making a global impact, and we want to help tell -and sell- that story.

Because we believe a healthy, future-forward city must evolve.

Because we know that talent isn't lessened by age -- on either end of the spectrum.

Because we want desperately to tap our community's knowledge, expertise and passion (and we know who you are and we're coming for you.)

Because London’s time has come.
